homemade makeup remover
Since I started using makeup from Limelight, I have to take it off every night, which felt like a con.
Washing my face every night before bed? Ugh.
Some of you do that already and are hardcore judging me, but by the time 10:00 rolls around, I barely have the want to brush my teeth!
I do anyway because I don't want my teeth to fall out, and I really like having clean teeth before I go to bed.
So, instead of messing with washing my face--and then the counters and my arms and the front of my hair because I'm a real life mess--I found a homemade makeup remover recipe and have tweaked it for my own needs.
And I love it.
1 tablespoon coconut oil
2 teaspoons face wash
4-5 drops essential oil (optional, but I use melaleuca/tea tree and will add lavender next time)
Melt the coconut oil then put all ingredients into a container with a pump.
Then, when you're ready to take off your makeup, pump once onto a makeup removal pad, and remove that makeup!
I got the idea from One Good Thing by Jillee, tweaked it to match my own face/oils, and I plan to make her reusable makeup remover pads because minimalism, y'all. Try out this recipe and add more or less coconut oil/face wash depending on what works best for your skin.
Disclaimer: Jillee uses distilled water in her wipes. Honestly, I just didn't wanna buy distilled water, so I use regular ol' out-of-the-sink water, and it's been just fine. That's up to you, though!
P.S. You're gonna want this post later for when you think, Someone told me a better way to take off my makeup--where did I read that? So, pin it! You'll be happy you did.
